I thought I had gathered a majority of the world's totally esoteric & useless knowledge, but now it looks like I've barely scratched the surface.

What an intelligent & well-reasoned response.

Actually the BBC is one of the few media groups that practices unbiased journalism scrupulously. It's easy to guess why you don't like them.
