Does this guy look familiar?
Found this on another forum. I am sure we have all seen idiots like this
guy on the water.http://tinyurl.com/dxz3y |

| I love that photo. Nothing like running into the warning sign! |

| unfortunately, there are idiots like this all around. we get our share,
but we tend to avoid places where they like to show off like that.
passing me that close at that speed may invite a 12 ga slug below the
waterline if a second pass is attempted. endanger my life, my crew, or
my vessel, and you get what you deserve... you've been warned! |

| I agree, that guy should be banned from boating. I would think anyone
in any of those cruisers would be justified at taking out his boat the
way is driving. What if someone were swimming in the water??? |

| This is probably how he ended up when coming back to his dock. http://tinyurl.com/dewyu |

| anyone else notice something funny about this pic? not being a physics
major, i would venture my guess it would be easier to push the boat off
the shoal if the fat guy either stood on the other side, or got OFF the
boat. |

| DownTime, If you zoom in you can see the fat guy is standing on the other side, it is
probably the only reason the boat is listing as much as it is. |

| We had a discussion about this picture, specifically the warning sign,
sometime last year. To me the sign looks more like an advertising sign
(Danger Shoal Grill and Bar 100 yards ahead) than an actual warning sign.
It is also not visible in all directions, as the fat slob in the picture
proves. |

|
| If you zoom in, you can see where there is a fairly large split in the side
of the boat, right below the waterline. It looks like they might not be
trying to push the boat off the shoal, but to keep it from sinking. |

| What makes that guy an idiot?
Is it the close encounters with other boats at high speed or is it something
more subtle. |
Bryan

|
| I trust you are kidding. I don't think there was anything subtle about his total disregard of the
rules of the road.....all close quarter passes with no regard to the safety
of the other boats or the possible catastrophic consequences of his
maneuvers. |

| I was wondering if someone using computer software to blend images together.
I can't imagine anyone cutting it as close as he did. |

| Perhaps......regardless it is a good lesson to show others. I plan to show
it to my son who will be also taking the USPS basic course this winter as
his first step in being able to take our 20 foot runabout out with his
friends. |

| I don't know. It looks like a typical mid-summer Saturday afternoon outside
of Scituate Harbor, MA. Eisboch |

| Elsewhere, somewhere asked why I'd want a 50 caliber rifle on a boat. Here's
the answer. |
