Post-panamex vessels coming to port

Finally getting regular service from the post-panamax container ships. A few years ago Halifax went head to head with New York & Baltimore to be the main port of call on this side of the Atlantic for these giant ships. Although we had the physical advantage, Al Gore had the Army Corps of Engineers dredge New York Harbour which helped it win. I'll have to get down to the waterfront on Saturday to see it squeeze below our two harbour bridges on it's way to the Ceres terminal in the Bedford Basin. (note: our southern terminals (Halterm) have no such barriers to ships of any size...including the Queen Mary 2, post-Panamax container ships or Nimitz size a/carriers. http://www.herald.ns.ca/Business/478035.html
