BOATING SAFETY ALERT 1-06
The Thirteenth Coast Guard District is issuing a boating safety alert
to all boaters who own a 18.3 foot, 2005, Alumaweld Super Vee LT boat. 1. The Coast Guard Office of Product Assurance has issued a recall
for all 18.3 foot Alumaweld formula Vee LT boats, 2005 model. During
testing for required neutral buoyancy theses boats were found to have
insufficient flotation. If one of these boats were to swamp or capsize
the boat will sink rather than remain partially afloat. 2. All owners of these boats are urged to use extreme caution when
operating these boats until the discrepancy can be corrected. Alumaweld
is complying with the recall and all owners of this make and model boat
should contact their dealers to make arrangement to have this
