| Maritime resources and ecology. It's a sticky subject. We all share the same planet, but who has a
greater investment in decisions about the use of local maritime
resources than the people who live in a region?
Who will suffer the most from foolish waste or unwise management? To a
degree, it's important to respect local control and customs, but it
gets really confusing when the remaining resource for the entire world
is in one small location... The seals kill off a lot of fish, so the humans kill the seals so the
humans can kill the fish instead... But to live, any animal must
consume other living things. Lots of complex issues here. Darn glad to see the ecology of Britain in such good shape that Sir
Paul can now start on the rest of the planet. Funniest line in the story: The 18-year old kid who asked "Paul
Who?..Sounds vaguely familiar..." Fame and stardom are *so* fleeting. |
