Link to a rare photo of Puget Sound

Here's a link to a USCG photo taken about sundown on April 4.

Somebody was recently commenting on the 50-caliber machine guns appearing on USCG boats in the Great Lakes. The two escort boats in this photo have 50-calibers mounted forward of the pilothouse, and have been rigged this way since not so long after 9/11/2001.

What's extremely rare about this photo, however, is that if one looks very closely indeed there are some small patches of color overhead. For the longest time I couldn't figure out just what that odd looking area might be, but after conferring with some folks who might be in a position to identify it, I'm reasonably certain that it might actually be "blue sky". Heck, all these years I thought that was just a legend- sort of like the Sasquatch or something.
