| I know guys who are seeing half their advance bookings from last
summer - that's not good for some of these guys. My partner and I
aren't seeing any real decline - maybe 20%, but we specialize. What
we are seeing is more of the "light tackle" part-timers losing money
on their boats which are mortgaged to the gunwales. If you are able to ride out the irrational oil situation this summer
you should be in good shape for next season. There are too many
"charter" operations as it is - this may be a good thing for the guys
who make a lot of their living being professional guides. This is all strictly commodity speculation and like all red-hot
speculation commodities, it will correct itself at some point - the
question is when. It's going to be spectacular when it does happen. >It'll be a good year to pick up a bargain come October... ;^) Maybe, but I'll bet this will be an interesting summer for insurance
carriers. :>) |
