Tohatsu 55 at High altitude - no power man!!!

How do I adjust my older Tohatsu 1988 (or so) 2 cycle engine to run like it did 3000 feet ago? Would that be less gas, or more oxygen? Which little screw does what?

It runs like a champ in denver, but oh so bad at Eleven Mile Res. I wish i had a picture to show, but my camera is on the fritz too! Awsome group! thnks...

Good idea. Any suggestions for where to get the approate tool set? I did find a maintance manual online. Thing is, it will take me a few to get the cash for those items, and i'll be floating the boat this weekend.

Do you know how to control the fuel amount on the fly? On my other engine, I could control it with a screw driver without even taking off the engine cover (i thought)! I just want to lessen the fuel today now for the weekend. please and thanks!

Never had a Tohatsu, but I'd think that it would be similar to any outboard. Take the cover off, and lean the high speed jet in a little, take it for a run and see how it does. The manual should show you which needle valve is for the high speed. Go slow, and stop just when it's running fine, you don't want to lean it out too much. basskisser
