Yamaha Outboard installation problems

The FT50 has been installed and is working well. The analogue tachometer has an overtemp and low oil pressure warning lights built in but no instructions about how to connect these lights to the engine. Siilarly the engine came with an analogue tilt/trim gauge but no instructions about how to connect to engine. Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks Bigtone

Can't help with the oil and temp lights but I assume a shop manual with a wiring diagram would provide the answer. Usually these are commonly connected to the beeper so you may have problems separating them. It basically just shorts the sense lead to ground. Guages are another deal with a resistive sending unit. They will tell you a lot more. Add a water pressure guage and you can really see what is going on. The trim/tilt requires a sending unit on the engine. If you don't have it you will be shocked at the cost (~$100) gfretwell
