FIberglass on a Pontoon Boat
I am trying to refinish an antique pontoon paddle boat. The pontoons
are rusting in places but I am welding patches to fix that problem. I
am not a great welder and want to make sure the boat is waterproof so I
was thinking of laying down fiberglass over to cover any holes I might
have that i can't see. Is this the best material to use and how should
I prepare the surface for laying the fiberglass, or better cover, down? |

| I think I'd go with a good two part epoxy paint. Regular polyester
fiberglass is a bit brittle. Plus you can pick a color you like. |

| Honestly, I really don't know. But, it doesn't sound like the best idea
to me....

| You can have the pontoons foam filled, so even of they leak, it is a
non-issue. |

| eventually won't the foam get water logged? |
