boat lift manufacturers

I'm having a terrible striper season and might sink my boat and use it as an oyster reef. In the event I opt not to resort to such extremes, perhaps I will waste some more money by installing a boat lift. Anyone have anything good or bad to say about any of the manufacturers for piling mounted lifts in salt water?

Or I should say quote "manufacturers" unquote because after crawling around lifts in my area it looks like they all use GE motors and the gearboxes all look the same (since the fish hate me I had time to google the latter and shazam the durn things all look like they came from the same source "Boat Hoist USA"). A newer motor variant is the AMS E-Drive (several offer that).

The only thing that looks different is the winders. And some are galvanized vs aluminum. Watching the galvanized ladder I installed a few years ago rot out -- hmm maybe I want aluminum.

They all seem to cost from $3500 to $4000 (the latter for aluminum). Heck if I quit wasting $$$ on frozen menhaden in my futile search for stripers I'll have that in no time.

Anyway, comments would be appreciated (about lifts not about stripers).
