| It's a JVC GR-DVL120 digital video camera - older model camera, about
five years old. I bought it for our trip to Ireland so I could take
video of the 'Auld Sod' for Mrs. Wave who's family is from Ireland. It produces a straight .avi file based titled the date the film is
shot. From there, I use either Pinnacle Studio 10 or Ulead
VideoStudio 10 Plus to edit, snip, insert audio, titles, other clips,
etc. The process in both software packages is to strip the avi,
convert to a neutral data format, do the editing, then out to whatever
format you want like PAL, NTSC in different resolutions, VCD, DVD, HD
DVD, avi, mpg, mp4, wmv, and a couple of others I can't remember at
the moment, etc. Of the two software packages, I prefer the Pinnacle over the Ulead,
but the Ulead software does somethings that Pinnacle does not. It's a
toss up. I actually had forgot I had the camera and was looking around at a new
one for when I redo the website this winter when Mrs. Wave reminded me
I already had one. :>) Oopppsss..... |
