Final closure for the USS WAHOO

http://abcnews.go.com/Technology/story?id=2670734&page=1&technology=true&technology=true&technology=true

What an impressive record! I wonder if it was sunk by enemy engagement? or by set mines, like the close by russian submarine? or an accidental sinking?

The articles don't seem to say.

But I'm glad that there can be closure for not only the crew, but also for their surviving families.

I think the families have it figured out by now. Paul

"Japanese reports later stated that one of its planes had spotted an American submarine in the La Perouse Strait on Oct. 11, 1943. These reports indicate a multi-hour combined sea and air attack involving depth charges and aerial bombs finally sunk Wahoo." From:

I think the closure was all for the families. The crew *had* closure.

I think you know what I meant. Closure not meaning "lost at sea" butrather, "found and identified" type closure Tim
