Boat Towels
Great advice Chuck. Here is another you would probably appreciate: One of the problems with boat towels is that they get wet after using them
to dry off after a shower or swimming. I know of people who insist that all boat towels be completely dry before
allowing them aboard. If I were that uptight about it I think I would have a separate boat towel
on the boat and keep another to dry off with. |

| Hot Damn! Separate towels, one to use, and another with which to dry it
off! And let's not forget rope coils with attached anchor. Yes! When you are
finished anchoring, just cut the old anchor and rope loose, and tie on a
new, fresh coil of rope with anchor. Just the thing to keep your
foredeck clean and dry! |

| One of my dock neighbors at the marina made dates take off all their
rings so they would not scratch the fiberglass......needless to say, he
didn't have many second dates. :-) |

| What a wonderful idea! Next season, I'm going to carry a supply of clean terry towels to hand
to the fish I catch so they can wipe themselves off before coming aboard
to be dehooked for their return to the ocean. I'd use paper towels, but why add to the solid waste mess? |

| LMAO...we have a few of those too. The oddest character is a cop who lives aboard his 27 ft year round.
For a good part of the summer, he had the boat cover on and could be
seen crawling under the back end with dates to get into the
cabin......very strange person.....his dates were not much better. |

| I don't wanna know :-) But he has lost his gun, badge, keys, etc in the canal when he fell in.
Had to bring a police diver out to find them. |

| It's been years since we've had a good, funny cop with boat and bizarre
wife thread here. Not that there is anything remotely wrong with being a
cop, but we had some with wild and wooly tales from the gendarmes,
usually involving the naming of a boat. Of course, that was in the pre-netcop days, before the a**holes took over. |

| What is it with cops and boats, anyway? It seems like there is a
disproportionately high number of boat owners that are cops when compared to
other professions. Eisboch |

| Here in SWFL we have a disproportionate number of cops running around
in official boats - our tax dollars at work. All this to placate the
hired lawyers from the Save The Manatee Club. |

When I was in h.s., I dated a gal for a while whose dad was a waterdog
for the City of Bridgeport. He spent most of his day fishing bodies out
of the water. Never went near a boat on his days off. Damn. I still
remember the girl's name, and this was 45 years ago, and I only went out
with her over one summer. |

| Seems like I remember reading that the manatee population has increased to
the point where they have become a serious hazard to navigation in many
areas of the ICW ... not just the "protected" zones. Next, the experts will be recommending a hunting season. Eisboch |

| >Next, the experts will be recommending a hunting season. Sounds good to me, but first, let's rescind all of the stupid manatee
speed zones. Everyone in the state of Florida who dislikes boats for
one reason or another has petitioned for their own personal manatee
zone, usually extending for at least a mile or two. Matatees are the spotted owl of the coastal regions, everyone's pet
environmental cause if it serves their interests. |
