Help - cleaning a monitor
How does one clean an LCD monitor. One site said to use a damp cloth
(water) but no cleaners. I tried that, but ended up with streaks on the
monitor.Any ideas? Note: I may one day put this monitor on my boat. (Whew!) |

| Well, I'm glad nothing broke, but seriously, everything I've seen says
*not* to use alcohol. The micro-fiber lens cloth with a couple drops of
water worked very well. |

| I believe if you read further you'll find that " infrequent" use of a 50-50%
solution of the iso-propyl alcohol and water is not a problem. |

| solution of the iso-propyl alcohol and water is not a problem. << That's true. The real BIG no-no on plastics is ammonia. That's the main
cleaning ingredient of Windex (the blue one). --Mike |

| I thought concrete was the aggregate mixed with the cememt using water
or other chemicals for various reasons? You mean it's not? |

| I hope others don't try what you suggest, I did, now I have swirls all over
the screen. |

| Oh for pete's sake... Just use a pumice stone. Or 00 sand paper. |

| You are correct, and that is why you don't want to rub it all over your
monitor. |

| 90-whatever percent isopropyl alcohol. It's what's used to clean them when
they're manufactured. |

| According to the manual that came with my NEC Multisync, alcohol is
verbotin. |

| My Samsung manual sez to use plain water on a lint free paper towel. I
use water and lens cleaning paper towels I bought at an optical store. |
