Looks like GoogleGroups is in the tank for me.

I don't really know whats going on, but Google Groups is doing some very wierd things.

I'm posting this message, but find out I won't be able to access it within 12-24 hrs. ... or longer.

anybody else using Google for access to rec.boats or other groups having the same problem?

Interesting to note, I won't be able to read this post or any replies for a day or so.

I wonder if anything has changed in my "Preferences"?

Funny, for the first time in my history, my posts are showing up right away. Within minutes, don't think I have ever had post come up faster than 4-5 hours. justwaitafreki...

"News"? when did rec.boats become "News"????? Tim

Tim,

Start with teranews.com. They have a free server or you can get 30GB per year for $29.95 and access to their premium servers which also include support and have a very long retention rate. Binaries are supported on both plans.

I tried Google Groups after Earthlink went down and found it to be a PITA to navigate.

Hey Tim - how's life in the future? :>)

Stop being cheap - get a news client and subscribe to a news feed.

I had the same problem for a couple of days. Seems to be better now. Maybe they're doing something with regional servers? Frankly don't know if that makes any sense or not- but the problem that you're describing was very apparent a couple of days ago in this area. Chuck

Maybe regional, but I have always had a 4-12 hour delay. This is going back at least a year or more. justwaitafreki...

There is normally a 30-second to 5-minute delay in my Google Groups service. Chuck

I agree with SWS.....

It looks like your ISP does little more than web hosting and private networking. So..... consider a provider like: http://www.usenet-access.com/ for about $6.00/month and a news client like those found here: http://www.newsreaders.com/win/clients.html
