It's not a low transom boat - it's a full transom boat. Short

Oh no Wayne, he is insulting your manhood, I bet you are feeling really insecure now;) justwaitafreki...
Dec 23
When I ordered my 14' Valco in the 1980's I ordered with a deep transom. Nice $40 option. Required a long shaft motor, but the transom did not dip down at all. Calif

>since you have >the biggest boat in here

Actually I believe that honor belongs to someone else.

But who would have guessed you were such a low self esteem knee jerk?

Dec 23
There's an old saying about "considering the source". Being insulted by Harry is almost an honor, sort of like being insulted by the Skipper of old. Wayne.B
Dec 23
Maybe for girliemen, wanna be boaters. Up here we sail the North Atlantic on less than that. Don

Harry, Did your dick grow when you sold your Hatteras? Reginald
Dec 23
I have a big boat. I am also probably the biggest Dick here.

JimH, are you telling us that this was a 'troll', just to start an argument? You would actually use your own son to do that? You continue to prove the total accuracy of Tom's assessment of you!

No offense but I need for you to explain.

We picked up my son today at the airport as he begins his 14 day leave, although most of his time will be spent in uniform as a recruiters assistant.

He had been at Ft/Camp Leonard Wood, MO for the past several weeks, idle time after his several weeks of combat training at Camp Lejeune and before his MOS training starting at the Camp on 1/4/08.

What surprised him was the fact that Army recruits in initial training (they are already called soldiers, not recruits) at the Camp were given the same time off even though they were in the middle of their 9 week initial training (the USMC calls that time basic training and is 13 weeks long followed by 5 weeks or so of combat training).

On the other hand the USMC recruits in the midst of their 13 week basic training on both coasts at this time of year get no time off during this Christmas season and continue on with their training. In fact, they never get time off during this basic training.

While I appreciate the support the US Army provides us...what gives with the soft Army training? ****

Who would have thought that Harry could be wrong twice? Wayne.B
Dec 24
Ahh, it's Whine... Isn't it time for you to make another dangerous sea voyage, say from where you are along the canal to, say, Stuart? Maybe along the way, you'll blow another transmission. Once can hope. HK
Dec 24
Yeah, but you're not an asshole. Whine is. HK
Dec 24
Let's see, you said it a couple weeks ago, Harry. What was it again?

OH! "Suck up!" -- John H

Starting the day looking for a fight again John? You need to chill and enjoy the holidays for a change.

Merry Christmas John.

JimH
Dec 24
John, all your posts today seem to be insults to folks you do not like. One would have thought that the time with your grandchildren would have mellowed you out. Chill and enjoy the holidays instead of holding in all this anger.

Merry Christmas.

JimH
Dec 24
His grandchildren left; they don't want to spend time with the toothless old grouch, either. HK
Dec 24
I think you meant to say "One can hope", right? Hope you are not hung over this morning. One can hope.

Well Hairy, our kids are here for the holidays, along with our new daughters-in-law, and we have been making really nice voyages out to the nearly deserted beaches of North Captiva Island for picnics, swimming in the Gulf of Mexico, and things like that. How about you?

Any interesting winter cruises on the SS LT Shrinkwrap?

Wayne.B
Dec 24
>Yeah, but you're not an asshole. There you go again, excercising your limited vocabulary and showing off those famous redundantly, repetitious writing skills. Liven it up for crying out loud, putting some thought and creative talent into your childish insults. You used to be able to do it before your low self esteem issues got the best of your low life transom. Make yourself a proper role model for political aspirants everywhere. Wayne.B
Dec 24
If your reference was to my Parker fishing boat, Whine, she's just where I parked here, well-protected under the shrinkwrap. When I unwrap her in late March or early April, she'll be in perfect shape, clean, lean, and ready for fun. And in a few years, when her warranty expires, why, I'll just sell her for close to what I paid, and buy another boat.

Sure beats dumping $20,000 or whatever into a burned out transmission, eh?

Thanks for posting. I started up my newsgroup filters again, and had forgotten about you. Now, in you go.

Oh. In response to your query, they were here for T'giving, and one of them with family will be here tomorrow. One of the others and family is overseas.

Buh-bye.

Dec 24
What a giggle you are. If ever I need a crappy little plywood boat, sloppily built, and of inferior materials, I'll give you a call. HK
Dec 24
Yep it was and yes I did.

> > You continue to prove the total accuracy of Tom's assessment of you!

I don't know what assessment of Tom's you are referring to. I like and respect Tom and hope that he thinks the same of me. If not, that's OK.

Take the time to chill this holiday season John and Merry Christmas. I hope you have a spectacular one. ;-)

Yes. He read the thread and ROTF laughing at how you defensive you were.

Just out of curiosity John.why did you have to bring up Tom's assessment of me (whatever that is)? Are you not man enough to let me know *your* assessment of me?

Me, I think you are a really neat old guy, but one with a bit of a nasty attitude and who needs to chill.

Have a spectacular, most awesome and totally cool Christmas John!!!!

JimH
Dec 24
Harry, remember in 7th grade when the kids would make up nicknames based on your name? With a name like mine, Herring, you can imagine the nicknames were mostly 'fish' related. I wonder what the 7th graders called you? "Hairy Crotch"?

It's interesting to see that you still revert to that when you get frustrated. -- John H

Harry! Please don't talk that way. You'll have us worried sick that you might leave. Like go to Costa Rica or someplace where they have a decent military and quality of life, like China or Russia or someplace. -- John H

I wondered when the jealousy over his boat building skills would show itself! I'm a little surprised that you beat JimH to it. That's usually his bailiwick. -- John H

Jealousy over his boatbuilding skills? He builds crappy little rowboats out of plywood. HK

Using your kid? Jees, that's lower than whale shit. "We picked up my son today at the airport as he begins his 14 day leave, although most of his time will be spent in uniform as a recruiters assistant.

He had been at Ft/Camp Leonard Wood, MO for the past several weeks, idle time after his several weeks of combat training at Camp Lejeune and before his MOS training starting at the Camp on 1/4/08."

This was a troll? Have you shared that with your Marine yet?

You're probably feeling very proud of yourself.

Let's see, how did that go again...'friggin' dense'? Was that the assessment? -- John H

Speaking of which, got any more photos of your grandchildren, dogs, golf balls or the dirty diaper pail on the Disney cruises? HK

More insults John? Too bad you need to spend Christmas Eve of all days in that childish behavior.

Have a most spectacular and super wonderful Christmas John.

JimH

Wow, you are really losing it John, and today of all days. Now you need to hide behind Tom to insult me. Oh well.

Careful now. There are people here who associate low transoms with low self esteem and will lash out against those who point out the dangers to the inexperienced. Wayne.B
Dec 23
You know what they say, Wayne: big boat=small dick, and since you have the biggest boat in here, you must also have the smallest dick.

Actually, I am against pointing out the dangers of boating to the inexperienced, just as I am against pointing out the dangers of computer to the inexperienced, or against the danger of voting Republican to the world.

LOL.... 18 miles out in a LTP, what a bunch of frekin' morons. Some folks just don't understand how to use a tool within it's limitations, without getting hurt. This is great, wonder how Harry will write this one off, will he call you names, totally flip out and photoshop something, or just pretend he did not notice the thread;) justwaitafreki...

I assume you're referring to the authors of the articles Reggie was nice enough to post when you use words like 'to insult and to troll'. But, I doubt if the authors of the articles read rec.boats.
