Fishing is improving!
Priest Lake is above summer pool, and as clear as I think I've ever seen it.
Broke away for a couple of hours today, headed down to Elm Hill Marina, and
was lucky enough to not only drop the boat into the water in a very timely
manner, but even found a parking place!Oh... I also found out that Elm Hill Marina is going to start charging a
launch fee. I don't know if this is going to be good or bad, but I'm not
going to complain if it means that some of the other guys are going to seek
a free launch. In the summer time, you usually end up waiting a half hours
or so to either launch or load. Anyway, the lake was rocking today with alot of boaters and jet skis, but I
still mananged to find fish. No real pattern, and no really big fish, but
the way I was catching them was to toss my powerworm right at the edge of
the rocks and let the bait get washed into the water by the waves. I guess
the bass, (spotted bass) were sitting there waiting for the waves to wash
food in front of their faces. I would not get hit any other way. I had a few
follows using spinnerbaits and cranks, but no takers. I'm going to assume that the spawn is over.
