If you had a choice

to fish the following hours which would you do?

2:30 a.m- 5:30 a.m or 5:30 a.m- 8:a.m

The reason I ask is, I was at the lake at 5:30 this morning and prior = to it getting light I caught two good fish on a buzzbait and one on a = wacky rig. I missed another what seemed like a good fish based on the = splash(but who knows) With the warmer temperatures earlier in the = morning now it seems that once that sun comes up the fish become few and = far between, I beleive I might be better off fishing in the dark right = up to daybreak. I could then sleep for another two hours prior to work. = Opinions? Fish should be feeding more during this time anyway right? = (Wow, this sounds "Al-Esque")  Randy- --

I'll take 5:30am - 8am.

Actually, 2 1/2 hours isn't enough time to do much.

Sideshow, other than basic operations, I understand next to nothing about computers. I both receive and send messages in HTML without apparent problems to me. Do others have problems on these same messages, and if so is there no simple solution for them? I like the flexibilities I get in sending with HTML, so I will continue doing so if there is no good reason not to. Bob

For my money, the morning twilight is the period of the day in which a truly outstanding catch is most likely. I like fishing deep and catch more fish all day long than at the morning twilight, but you can't really compare a period that lasts only 10 to 20 minutes to the next 12 hours.

Few anglers appreciate the morning twilight because so few ever experience it. To fish it, you have to fish overnight and stay late, or launch in the dark and find your way to your best spot before the eastern horizon begins to glow. Most 'early' fishermen are still on the way to the lake. Most night fishermen have already left the lake. I'm out there by myself.

My preference for a 3 hour period within your time slot would be 5AM to 8AM. If I MUST choose one of yours, I'll take the latter. I love night fishing -- maybe twice a year. I love daytime fishing much more. But I hate not starting as early as possible. That's one of the biggest reasons I gave up tournaments. I hate sitting there waiting till someone else tells me I can go fishing.

Bob,

I don't think HTML has any business on usenet. That being said, it's my choice, so I use a news reader that understand html only enough to strip it the hell out of messages and give me straight ascii. RichZ© www.richz.com/fishing

Bob... some people like me only receive in plain text. I set my readers up to do that to prevent alot of the porn spam from showing their graphics when I check my mail. It's kind of embarassing and definately inappropriate for the kids to see some of this stuff.

Since doing so, I don't get the pics... even when someone I know and trust sends something in html.

There is usually some pattern you can work out for any of the times, some better than others. But if you call me at noon, and say lets go fishing...that's a good time! :) I use to travel to the Colorado river alot, we would camp overnight, fish for cats instead of sleeping, then do the 'before daybreak' bass thing, then the after daybreak bass thing, then the noon bass thing, then the afternoon bass thing, then the late afternoon bass thing, then the twi-light bass thing....as I remember, they were all FUN! And each in their own ways were productive! JK jbkbub

There are newsreaders that can't interpret html and display plain text? Weird... On that note, you would think someone 'savvy' enough to point out the poor netiquette of html posting would have and equally 'savvy' newsreader. At least I know to be careful now that I am aware that we have our own personal USENET cop on the scene to point out that stuff. I wouldn't want to get caught with my proverbial pants down.

M-O-O-N that spells USENET police...
