Fish n Ski with a Honda Four Stroke ?

Hello :

I looking to sell my 2002 Lund Fisherman 1850 with a 115 Honda on it and buy a Fish 'n Ski. I've looked at quite alot of manufacturers from Nitro to Triton to Champion to Procraft. The problem I keep running into is that most boat companies now are either owned or tied to an outboard company.

I'm not set on a particular boat (as long as they have the key features I'm looking for), but I AM set on a particular motor. After running my Honda for 2 years now, I can't imagine getting anything but. They're so quite, clean, and great on gas. And properly maintained, should last forever. I love the new Honda BF150 and if I went to a 19'-21' Fish 'n Ski, that's the motor I'd like.

Does anyone have any suggestions on boat companies that allow people to choose motors instead of being told they HAVE to buy a Merc, or a Yammy etc etc ?

As a side note - anyone out there running a Fish 'n Ski ? Care to comment ?

Thanks - Shawn

You can order most boats without a motor, however you may not get as good a deal as buying them in a package. I suggest lettign any dealers you are considering working with that not getting a Honda will be a deal breaker for you.

The link above is for the Honda Bass Pro Staff. They list the motors and boats they use. There are several brands of boats listed so they must have found somebody who would install a Honda. You might also consider finding which dealers do sell Honda outboards and find out what brand of boats they sell if any.
