Line for drop shotting

What is the best line for drop shotting also what hook is best?

I have been having break offs where I tie the hook on with a palomar knot.

Any advice?

I bet if he ties on your hook with the line he is using, it will break off also. Sounds like crap line. Either old, or bad batch. I dropshot a lot with a 6# line and a spinning rod. No brake offs. I use mostly Trilene, or P-line in mono. Bill Calif

The guy's asking about a line, not a hook. Any hook will break off if the line's no good. Same old Rodney...

Fred, I love 6-8# green Stren or 8-10# Seaguar fleurocarbon for dropshotting.
