What a delight. kinda long
Hello, I fish for the largmouth`s here in ILL. Mundelein to be exact. Heavy
pressure on the small ponds here. I used to have a favorite lake that I could
almost always count on catching a few nice ones. Caught an 8 lb. in that lake
once. I kept this lake a secret of course...BTW I release all the fish I
catch......one day I went to this so called secret lake and there were 30+
people fishing it and keeping everything. After the lake was fished out and the
lake was dead the city
posted quidlines for the number and sizes of fish that could be kept. One would
think that a lake like that was stocked they would put the signs up first not
after. BTW this lake is a lake not controlled by the state. Thinking for
other options....I kept thinking of another lake no one would think
there were fish in it.
Another BTW is that most of these lakes or ponds are mostly flood catch waters.
I found a pond by me that I have never seen anyone fish in. It has a nice
water spouting deal in the middle of it. I would call that an aerator. Why
would they aerate a lake that has no fish in it. Anyway I took out my fishing
pole with a small
spinnerbait on it and started catching bass on almost every cast. Must have
caught 30+ fish in one hour. The largest about 4 lbs. This lake is about 5
yrs. old. Am sure most of you know of a lake where the fish have never seen a
lure.
They will hit anything that is thrown in. I am keeping this one secret for my
nephews. They are 11 and 9 yrs. old and will love this.

productive bass lakes. Dan, if you truly want to protect the location of
this lake I urge you to forward the exact location to me for safe keeping. Please do not post to the newsgroup. As you know, this is the world wide web

| Jealousy is an ugly trait, but I'm definitely guilty. So how do you keep this a secret? I would think that aerated ponds are in
locations where people can see you fish, at least that's the way it seems
around here. At any rate, keep enjoying it, it sounds great to me. |

| Well this lake can`t be seen from the road.
One can see it from inside of the library.
But I didn`t notice how many people were watching me from the library. Am not
fishing it anymore because of the nephwew thing. I want them to go there and
catch fish. |

| Around here, the only aerated ponds are munincipal septic lagoons. Most
commonly stocked with finless browns and Coney Island whitefish. |

| You bet I have. It`s a good lake for large mouths..lots of quality fish in it.
Couple of problems with it though. There is only one public access for shore
fishing. That being North shore park. And you can only really fish there in the
spring before the weeds choke the shoreline. There is a boat launch, but you
have to be a member...$$
plus you have to have a boat. I don`t :(
I have fished it in a friends boat. Did quite well.
How about yourself on Diamond lake?

I fish the lakes in the DuPage Cty forest preserves during lunch. I have
been having pretty good luck at Hidden Lake and at Herrick Lake. I got a
real pig Friday at noonish. Found a hole and dropped a senko in and
pulled it in. pat |
