Fishing Software Question
CharlesAre you using VB .NET or just VB 6? Just out of curiosity, I use C# , so I
think I could assist you if you are using VB .NET . I also use Delphi ,
have been for about 8 years. A while back I posted my fishing software
here, and someone called me a Mediocre programmer, and I took it personally,
but that was before I stepped outside myself and looked at the software from
a customers perspective, and realized I did write a mediocre program. So I
am no longer a mediocre programmer :-D, I can't be, I would be
unemployed...haha Chris |

| Wanna see mediocre??? Wait until you see mine! All I'm really doing is
creating a VB form to work with an Access database. That's so simple that
almost anyone could do it with about 10 minutes of learning. I did use a
little code for the "New Record", "Update Record", and so forth.... and
included the coding for the calculator. Still, that's all pretty basic
stuff. It should be finished by the first of the week... I hope. My latest version is VB6.0 with maybe some kind of service pack but I don't
know... I haven't used the VB.Net, but would like to see how different it is
from version 6. Which reminds me... I need to talk to Jerry. |

| About 4 years ago, I rewrote most of my code to move from .dbf format to
paradox. The reason is simply that I use another db that uses the borland
engine, and I can get at my data from two completely different angles. Mine
is pretty structured, the other is very freeform. The last few years, I've
been using the freeform deal much more regularly. IT really helps me see
patterns that I never really considered. Check out an app called 'the
literary machine'. Goggle should find it for you. There's a free version
that can be made to do pretty much everything you need. RichZ©
