buying new boat question

I am looking to purchase a boat from a friend of a friend. It is a 2004 tracker 175 but I want to have it looked at by a dealer first. How much should I have to pay to have it looked at?

You could expect to pay at least 1 hour worth of service i'm sure but with a newer boat like that doesn't it have factory warranty left on it?

Yes it does but I heard the guy was rough on the boat so I want to have it looked at before purchasing. I tried finding warranty information on the PT 175 but couldn't find any detail. Pat_RI

One to two hours shop time at whatevcr their shop rate is. Make sure you ask them what they will actually check for you.

If you decided to buy it you might go ahead and have them do an annual serivce and put in a new water pump.

I live in New England so if I buy it I will probably just have them store and winterize it. Thanks for the info and I will let you guys know what comes of this. Pat_RI
