I get really tired fishing all day, especially standing on one foot while
operating the t-motor with the other in high winds. Yesterday was a killer.
High winds all day. Batteries died with 1.5hrs left to fish a club
tournament. The Ga BASS Federation handbook implies that anchors can be used
with the premise that "the boat anchoring first has control over a 50ft
radius surrounding the boat". Are there any tournaments which prohibit the
use of anchors?

I have never heard of such a restriction. I have seen a couple rules that
give an extra area of protection or a more specific area opf protection
against encroachment by competitors if anchored or if a marker bouy has
been set out.
I carry an anchor and a hundred feet of rope in both of the boats I use
regularly. I have had circumstances a couple times when that was the only
way to really nail myself in place to fish a spot effectively. Pissed off
some fellow anglers when I anchored and tossed a marker on either side of my
boat. When Carolina rigging or drop shotting a deep ledge or hump on a
windy day its really the only way to go.
