Salamanders

Was in the doctors office yesterday and Judy was reading an scientific mag of somekind. In it there was an article that several bait shops in the southern part of the country had been advised (or were made to . . . I'm not sure) stop selling salamanders. It seems a check of a number of stores found these critters to be carrying a virus that's suspect in the large mouth bass virus epidemic. Anyone hear about this. seems guys buying these critters and fishing with them were transfering the virus to farm ponds etc?

I'm sure of two things Josh; If these salamanders are indeed scientifically linked to LMBV:

1) Bait shops won't be advised to stop selling them, they'll be ordered to.

2) It'll be in every fishing magazine in the country.

Of course if your doctor gets Bassmastera month early I wanna find out how lol. The virus that causes LMBV has already proven to be present in many lakes, just as the algae that causes red tides is always out in the ocean.
