What do you think?
I was out fishing and on the bigger lake up here,,, there is a huge point
that comes all the way out , Well out on this point(peninsula (sp)) there
was some construction workers and machinery digging up the end of the point.
I asked what was going on as i feared someone was finnaly able to get
approval to build on it.. Man were they in for a treat seeing my ugly face
every morning fishing their docks etc etc.. It wasn't the case. Seems they
had something to do with wildlife projects and E.P.A and they were now
turning this into swamp land. I talked more with the guy there and he went
on to say there would be small creeks running through but that basically it
would be flooded out and would have some spots in two to three feet of
water. I'm not sure what to think, I imagine that there would be areas for
baitfish to school up and for fish to spawn or seek shelter, but wonder what
kind of effect it will have on this lake in general. We have caught some big
fish all around this point all year long. I wonder what a change like this
will do to this particular area. What do you think?

| It's hard for me to understand what they are attempting to do, i.e. "turning
this into swampland.". They probably had to obtain a permit or two and obtain an EIR. If you ask
the construction workers to show you their copy it may give you an idea as
where to go and find out which agencies are involved, get copies of their
plans and see what THEY believe will happen. Their also may have been
public hearings and public bid solicitations which were recorded to give you
more info. Hope they don't screw up the area for you. Good luck!

| Sounds to me like they're building you a great spawning area for the
bass that hang around that point. |

| Texas is spending big bucks building similar protected flats for spawning
areas in Galveston Bay. Sound like it is the same thing in fresh water.
