I was runnin' low on gas, so I took it down to the station that was about 3 or 4 miles from the <er> resort. I gassed her up, paid the guy and tried to get back to Hurricane, but it wouldn't start. Dead starter...

I called Vern's drunk ass and he and I attempted to push it away from the pumps. In doing so, the drivers door caught on a post almost ripping it off the hinges. I drove Vern back to his mansion on the hill and headed back to Hurricane. I told Sean and Jerry my problem since I was driving Verns truck, and I had to pick up Vern at 5:00 the next morning. They decided that they would follow me back over to Verns and we'd just drop off the truck and he could get there if he was sober enough the next morning.

If I remember correctly... we're you there when we took his truck back? If not... you'll love the rest of the story.

Anyway, the next night, Jerry drove me into town to pick up a new starter. The door wasn't as bad as I thought, but did have it repaired after returning home.

I traded that thing in about three months ago for the F-150 so I could get myself and two of my kids in it every morning on their way to school. That was a good ole truck, and was still running strong when I traded it. Only problem was, it didn't like pulling the boat in its' old age. Good thing I only live about 5 miles from the ramp!

The main reason I went with Chevy was because of front end help on sales. I walked in and said, "I need a truck for my business." The first one I had a good deal on and drove it off the lot before they even had the paperwork ready. The next two trucks were the same way. Although my family owns a lot of GM stock, and my father in law is a retired GM principal exec, I would buy a Ford ina minute if I had gotten the same quality no nonsense service and a good price on the truck. It was the sales people and the commercial sales manager that made the difference for me.
