Simple gauge malfunction? Or is she getting ready to blow?
I went out this morning for a little while, very little while, as I had
a full day ahead of me, doing other things, anyhow here is my question. I
launched before daybreak, first fishing hole, fished there for about 40
minutes. Sun came up getting warmer. Started boat, and realized only then
that there was no water pressure. Or so the gauge showed zero. Heart
dropped, I looked back to the discharge hole, and water was creaming out of
there, the way it was supposed to work. Had to make a decision, run it, or
not. I thought as long as there was a good stream out the back, it should be
o.k. I started running down the lake, and seen the pressure slowly rising.
Got to 10 p.s.i. ( normal operating preasure,) and stopped there. got to my
next hole, and when I shut it down, it slowly dropped as a hydraulic system
would do, when bleeding it, not as an electrical gauge should do. O.K. got
ready to leave, and started it up, and it pretty much acted normal, all the
way to the dock, and was still doing pretty good when I trailered it up. The
temp was 26 deg. when I left the house, and water temp was in the high
fifties. (if that helps) as all I could think that there was a piece of ice
somewhere where there shouldn't of been, when I first cranked her up. Any
help or suggestions would be appreciated.total 2 fish (small) One l.m. and one agrssive litttle b.g. both on a crank
bait. |

| H20 Pressure is not an electrical gauge, it's a small tube which runs from
your motor to the gauge. You just had the water in the tube freeze up.
No worries. |

| Sounds like a piece of crud in one of the lines. Pull them and blow them
out just ot be safe. If its like mine there is a plastic hose from the gage to the motor. |
