Structure Fishing

Just wanted to share with the group.

I've gotten a number of good tips in here and this season I am going to learn to fish "off the banks" if it kills me. One of the other things I did that turned out to be a great investment is I purchased from BP a Dvd by Woo Daves on Structure fishing. It's got to be an hour or so long and is filled with great tips. It's done in Woo's typical "average guy" kinda style which makes it very understandable and fun to watch. There are a few but very few negatives to the dvd. I watched it last eve for the first time and it was late so I took no notes, but I think it's a great teaching tool and for those like me who've been bank beaters most of their fishing careers, I'd highly recommend it.

I also got one of his VHS tapes on river fishing. I think river fishing is one of my fishing strengths, but always need to learn more and I'm sure there's got to be some good info on that as well. These teaching tools are only $10 so I think well worth the investment.

Thanks for your thoughts Chris. I dont fish competitively any more. I used to be the president of a 40-50 man club out this a way. In fact I joined the club not to fish competitively so much as to learn fishing from what I recognized as some of the best fishermen around. I enjoyed the competition, but it wasn't my bag. I think in the ten years I was with the club I place 4th once and 10th once lol lol. But we had a hellava time and tons of fun.

I have had enough competition in my professional life and did all the sports thangs when I was young. So now I'm pretty good at figuring things out and just want to keep improving. I recognize my bank beating is a limitation and that frankly . . . It drives me nuts to see guys out in the middle of no where on a lake or river catching the heck out of fish and me not knowing how to do that. . . thence the video. And I'm glad to hear you thought it was good as well.
