| Mike, A lot of this is dependent on personal taste and style and what species of
fish we're talking about but here is what I like to use for bass... Baitcasters: -7.5 foot MH Flippin' Stick... I also have a 7 1/2 Heavy Flippin' Stick that
I use in extremely heavy cover (I don't use that one as much). Both are
spooled with 50lb Power Pro Braid. Additionally, I use the MH setup when
Carolina Rigging. -7 foot MH - My workhorse rod. I have a few of these that I use for
Spinnerbaits, Topwater Frogs, Texas Rigged Worms and other Texas rigged
baits plus I use it to pitch jigs. -6.5 foot MH - I use this for any of the presentations I listed for the 7'
MH I listed above when I need a more accurate, pinpoint presentation or
cast. I also use this for buzzbaits. -7 foot M Glass Rod for Crankbaits -6 foot M - most topwater baits - walkers, poppers etc. I also use this for
Hare Jigs. -6 foot MH - Jigging Spoons... I use to use a longer rod but jigging all day
on Erie for bronzebacks was tiring with the longer rod so I got this one. Spinning: 7 foot M Glass for light Crankbaits 6.5 foot MH for tubes and lighter soft plastic presentations 6 foot M for dock skipping All of the setups have either a hybrid or fluorocarbon line on them except
for the flippin' sticks which, as I mentioned, have braided line. I hope that this helps! Tony M
