Renosky Sizmic frog?

I know a few of you are diehard Zoom Horny Toad users and was wondering if anyone has used the Renosky Sizmic frog?

The Renosky frog looks almost exactly like the Horny Toad but has "shad feet"(feet like a swiming shad's tail) instead of "curly tail" feet like the Horny Toad.

I have read that some of you have had trouble finding Horny Toads and the Sizmic frog has recently become available at 3 different Wally Worlds in my area. I would guess that most Wal Marts have started carrying them also.

I have recently picked up both styles and can't wait till spring to try them out, but untill the ice melts I am looking for everyone else's opinion.

So... has anyone used them? Do they compare to the Horny Toads? At less than $2.00 for three frogs and a couple of screw in type hooks thrown in, the deal seems pretty sweet.

And yes Rodney, I know, ANY lure that is made by Renosky is far superior to any other lure on the market;-) Hehe! Just kidding.

Thanks, Mike

I've used both and have had better luck with the Toad. The frogs do catch fish, but I was unable to find them locally. I felt that the toads moved more water and definitely skip better than the frog did. Seems those paddle feet put more drag on the water when skipping, less when retreiving. YMMV......  Jack ~~ Jack Dalzell www.jdbass.com ~~ jack

I'm glad you are,, Joe makes some fine lures, but there are many that equal some of them, and others that surpass them. Joe does spend a lot of time and Money on R&D, he was the first in many lure designs that others knocked off, some of the knock offs were even better than his originals, but he was the "first" to come up with the principles, and fishermen should give him credit for things like screen painting of soft plastics, as well of many of the designs that you can buy from most manufacturers now.

Huh? Joe did what? What you talkin about? Bob

Rodney, it just hit me that Mr. Renosky's first name must be Joe. Sorry... us SW guys only recognize one true Joe, with all the rest being imposters! ;-) Bob

You're feeling better, right Bob? LOL, but I do agree, in the fishing world, there is only ONE Joe! Steve

Am I feeling better right now, at this moment? Well, I got more steroids in me than Canseco, business at SW is going crazy, and my nurse is young & drop dead gorgeous. Life is great! Of course, ten minutes from now I may be taking a nap and dreaming of running through even more gorgeous fields of greasy hamburgers instead.

You guys and your frogs are crazy. I'll just bring my spinnerbaits, crankbaits, and plastics. Charles
Mar 14
Well now you've done it.....I was thinking if I kept talking Toads, he wouldn't remember to bring the crankbaits and etc. Remember the crankbait and the color the guy told us about when we first checked out Dale Hollow? I've still got mine. Jerry

Yeah, I picked up a couple of those, but unfortunately I forgot to get them out of the boat before heading down the highway. Still in the package... somewhere along the way to Center Hill one morning they disappeared. Charles

Yeah, I might have a few toads of my own, only went through about 40 packs last year, I'm even gonna wear the horny toad hat that Kevin sent me, and the "I'm a Crappie Fisherman" shirt. I'm a shoe in to win this thing alwaysfishking
