Help with my gear

I have decided to start fishing again, been a long time since I fished. I looked at what gear I have left and am not sure of my rod and reel really compliment each other,

Rods: 1) Diawa Eliminator medium light 6' 2) Shakespeare Ugly Stick medium(i think) handles 6-15 lb test SPL1100 7' lite

Reels: 1) Abu Garcia Cardinal 764GIi ( 8lb test) 2) Abu Garcia 874 (closed face) 3) Shakespeare SIT 2701DB 4) Shimano Symetre Aero SY1000F ( 4 or 6 lb test)

Do any of my rods match well with any of my reels? Does the monofilament go bad? I assume reel 4 is an ultra lite. My thinking is to get a bait caster (quantum acs II) with a 6' med rod, find a rod for the ulta lite. Please let me know what you think I am open to all suggestions. Thanks in advance!

I would get a 6'6" Shimano Clarus rod, medium heavy action, fast taper and place a Curado 200 on it. This will be a good start for plastics, spinnerbaits, etc...

Change your line. It is cheap insurance.
