Lamiglass Power Rating ???

Ok, does anybody have the skinny on what the Lamiglass power rating means?

I have a couple Lamiglass 3 power rods. They are fast tips, and pretty heavy power Seems like medium atleast. I use them for flipping weightless plastics or light weights. Very light weight fast action. Great rod.

I was fishing with a friend on Saturday in a tournament and he was playing with a 5 power Lamiglass rod in the same line. The tip seemed to be downright mushy by comparison and bend further back into the rod too. The rod base is thicker though. I don't understand their power rating at all. His seemed like it would make a good spinner bait rod.

Does anybody have a clue how to judge what a Lamiglass action should be based on what it say on the rod?

Sounds like you have the S-Glass version and your friend the E-Glass version. The S for lures to 3/4 oz and the E for lures to 1 1/2 oz. Both rated for same line size. Lamiglas are great rods, been using them for years.

Now that is some solid information. I'll have to look and see what he has again. Thank you.

I like the weight, power and action of the Lamiglass rods I have, but it has bothered me that the power rating made no sense.
