Home from the MTC
I got home last night from the MTC.To reply to some earlier posts the reason
noone is posting any info is that there are no phones at the State
Park.Heck,the restaurant we ate in most of the time was 20 miles away and we
never even saw a grocery store.Basically if you didn't have what you needed
or wanted,get ready for a drive.Also,the final results won't be revealed
till every one is home safe.
The weather...Friday was filled with heavy rain,wind,and violent
thunder and lightening.I fished with Steve and we were lucky to find safe
refuge under the only dock I saw on the lake.Luckily Joe H. and Steve had
discovered this place during practice.The lightning was all over the place
so we had to be careful.Center Hill is totally undeveloped except for a
couple of small marinas,no homes,no business,no docks.Friday was tough day
and I don't think anyone weighed in a limit but we all had a great time and
had plenty of stories to tell.
Saturday dawned cloudy and threatening rain with a forecast of 10-20 mph
winds and possible rain,plus high temp. of only 60.I don't think it ever hit
60 degrees and the wind and misty rain were still around but we never had to
worry about the lightening.
For me this was my first get together with the folks from this group.Now I
know why they call it a "Classic".To get to put a face with a name from this
screen was great itself,but to find that all the guys were as friendly and
hospitable as could be was awesome.I have fished club and other tournaments
for quite a few years and never had so much fun as I did this weekend.We
were all there to catch fish of course but the camaraderie of the
contestants was second to none.We fished,we ate,some drank,we told
stories,and we laughed our butts off.It truly was a "classic" weekend.
That is all for now,I will let the other guys opine when they all get
home.My advise though is for any of you guys that are "thinking" about
attending one of these events to make sure you get there.You won't be sorry.

| Just got home myself along with my partner Dave Johnson. We both had a GREAT
time and look forward to the next Classic.
BTW Charles send me your address and I'll get that prop out & Randy would
you give my e-mail address to Ken also we didnt hook up last nite as he
wasnt up when we got back from nite fishing...Thxs
