Bob La Londe

Hey Bob, was just reading some of the San Diego fishing sites, and saw something about the "Bob La Londe Open Ivitational" at the river. A poster (Otay Michael) was talking about what great fun he had at the tourament...had pictures and a geat report. Do you sponser your own touraments there? Sounded like a fun thing. Michael sounded excited about winning $30 for the smallest "legal" bass of the tourament...said it paid for his enry fee <grin>. Good job Bob!

Cool, I'm glad Michael had fun. He was the only one who came I hadn't heard back from. I have a fishing forum on my website and we decided to have a forum members just for fun tournament. It is a lot of work to host a tournament, but I had a blast. Just about everybody who came wants to make it an annual thing, and several wanted to make it a bi annual event with one in the spring and one in the fall.

I'll have to drop in over at sdfish.com and see those pictures he posted. Thanks for giving me the heads up John. By the way, Micahel also had to fish solo on day two because one of the non-boaters didn't show. He also took 2nd Place team for day fishing solo. It was a small tournament so we only paid the top team each day and the top over all combined weight.

We paid best team day 1 and day 2 best overall individual combined weight, big fish day one, big fish day two, biggest overall, smallest keeper, and biggest goon fish.

I took biggest goon fish with a .36 lb blue bill from day one, but I was prepared to defend it with a 2lb striper on day two. I didn't have to weigh in my striper.

Jim Fletcher took best combined weight from his first place team finish on day one fishing with Dave Willhide and a first place team finish on day two with Hammer.

Dave had big fish on day one. Hammer took big fish over all.
