Kick Tail Lure
Ok, I'm sure you all will have some fun at my expense, but I like the
kicktail lure. It catches fish. Well the topwater version does anyway. I
think of it as a subtle buzzbait. It has nailed fish after fish when a
popper and a regular clacking buzz bait produced little or nothing. Don't
get me wrong. I know they are a limited niche bait, but sometimes they will
produce. They do have one really big problem. They break easy. It doesn't
stop them from catching fish because the big hook is in the fornt section,
but they do break of pretty easy. You wind up bringing in a head. The bait
is then useless. I have been looking for another bait to fill this niche.
Something a little more durable. Basically they look like a minnow swimming
along the surface creating a minor disturbance.I was thinking that maybe a soft plastic bait with a hollow chamber might do
the trick and be a lot more durable. Any ideas? |

Have you not used a zoom ultravibe speedworm? or a Zoom Horny Toad? It's the
perfect solution for when you want a topwater lure without all the
disturbance and noise of a buzzbait, Speedworms have outproduced senkos for
me easily, and I'm a big senko guy. It's two lures in one, a topwater buzzbait or a regular cut tail worm. Try
em you'll like em

| No they don't, but they fall ever so slow, keeping them on the surface, just
requires you to reel, and not even have to reel fast. I must have used 20
bags (15 ct each) already this year. |
