Reel opinions
I'm a fly fisher, but the weather isn't always up for tossing a fly. I'm
looking for a spinning reel to use on my fly rod. I'm looking for a reel
that has extra spools, and can take a 4 to 8lbs fishing line. Money
isn't a issue and I can be fishing in saltwater, so I'd like any insight
you guys might have.The rod I'm looking for a reel is a 4 weight fly rod. |

| Get a separate rod. Fly rods wrapped for a spinning reel make good rods,
but with the fly guides, a fly rod is not going to be good with a spinner.
Look at the guides and how big the stripping guide (first one) is. Large to
allow the large loops off the spinner to go through the guide. Look at the
small diawa and Shimano spinning reels. |
