do wal-mart sell bass lures?
Just curious - coming to the US from the UK in July and will be looking to
stock up on
some lures.
Am I right in thinking that Walmart and the like stock fishing lures??Do any US stores sell off the shelf, low cost but good quality lures?? SS |

| Ahh. good.....I looked at walmart.com and couldn't see any. I'll be looking for crankbaits in the 3 to 4 inch size
and jointed lures in the 6 to 7 inch size range. Can anyone tell me - what sort of prices do they go for?? SS |

| You should find all sorts of lures in that size range at Wal-Marts around
the country. Prices will vary with the lure, from sale items in the $2.50 range up to
about $10.00. |

| What you should do depending on where you are going is try and locate a Bass
Pro Shops or Cabelas |

| I'd rather buy from any other local bait and tackle shop for that matter,
supporting local businesses. But the guy specifically asked about
Wal-Marts. |

| Wal-Marts are not consistent with lure selection from store to store. In my
area the selection is inadequate. A much better selection can be be found in
the fishing department of sporting goods stores, such as Dick's or Gander
Mountain and others. Good luck. |

| I don't know about Boston, but I have not found a place anywhere near
Cape Cod that has a good selection of freshwater lures. Most people
there go saltwater, so the stores seem to stock up accordingly. But due to this fact, you can get some good bass fishing on Cape Cod
lakes, since everyone else is out fishing for stripers :) |

| Dicks has a better selection, but Sports Authority has better
discounts. If he's in the US for more then a week, he's almost better off ordering
from Bass Pro or Cabelas. |

| Simon, Also keep in mind that in the US (At least northeasternern states)
selection dwindles significantly during the summer months in places
like Walmart, KMart etc., Outdoor stores however, maintain their selection pretty well, but don't
expect any serious discounts in the month of July. Visit us in
Novemeber for spectacular tackle deals! ;-) |

Didn't mean to imply anything Steve, just wasn't sure if he had ever been to
a Cabelas or BPS, My first time there I was like a kid in the candy store
