Only once last month!??!!
What's going on here??? Looking back at July, I fished a whole total of ONE
time!Aint going to let that happen this month. I still make it to the NWC this
year, but I've promised not to be so lazy, without putting in at least a few
hours on the lake! Guess I'll start tonight. It was a toss up yesterday
between bike riding or fishing, with bike riding winning. Plus there's
another trail that I'd heard about that I wanted to check out. On the way
there, I was passing boat after boat hooked up and headed to the lake as I
wondered why I had my bike with me instead of the boat. Choosing between the
two tonight was a no-brainer. My calendar reminded me that August is the
last of the summer, with fall getting ready to sneak in on us before we know
it! Plus, my legs are beginning to ache! I haven't been around here enough lately to see how everyone is doing, but
the lack of posts leads me to believe that everyone is fishing instead of
hanging out at the computer. That is a good thing. Work has kept me away...
and I guess that's a good thing too, but damn I miss this place! I'll be sure to take lots of pictures tonight and post them, along with a
full report! (Where's my note pad? LOL Or was that a binder?) |

| What kind of biking are you doing Charles? I have been riding mountain bikes
for years and there are lots of trails around here. |

| I just checked my log - fished 9 days in June and 9 in July. That does
not count fishing for bream in my pond - may have caught some bass
then, too. June was far more productive for me - 47 over 12 inches and 13 shorts.
July was 21 over 12 and 3 shorts. So far this year 57 days with 208 keepers and 82 short fish. Ronnie

| Mountain biking here too... I hear there's a trail up near you at Lock 4.
Ever heard of it? It's on my list of stops... (Gotta lose this gut!) |

| Now that's record keeping. Mine just consists of when, how many, and where.
Don't really care about sizes this year since I'm not fishing any
tournaments. Tonight the count was 2 bass in an hour and a half. Not much time to fish,
but a heck of a lot of fun. Lightning drove me in early tonight. |

off-topic... |

| What type of log do you keep? What does it contain besides size? I promised
myself I would log everything this year, but when you only have 2-3 hours in
the morning and 2-3 hours each night, it's right to work or right to family.
I barely have time to list number of fish caught. ( 15 yesterday :-), 13
keepers) What do you use on the boat? |

| Yep,it's a good trail with a lot of use.Only about 5 minutes from me (and
real close to Flippers :) if the biking gets to be too much. |

this year? |

| I keep a calendar on my desk and each night after I go fishing I write
in the info on that date. I have looked at several software programs but
have not used any of them - I probalby would not take the time to do
them. I have calendars going back to 1977 in a briefcase and I often
look back at them - it is easy to scan the correct month in them all
fairly quickly. I write down number of bass and lake. I keep up with keepers and
throwbacks - and if the keeper size on that lake is over 12, I make a
note of that. Just the numbers - might by 3-1 for 3 keepers and one
short, or 3-2-1 for three over 14, two more over 12 and one under 12. I also try to write down weather, water and air temp and any keys -
depth, bait, time ect. You can get a lot of info in a box for the day
if the calendar does not have much there. If it is a tournament I note
place finished, too. Ronnie

| Yup... I agree. Sure its easier to get forgivness than permission, but it's
easier to get fired than to find another job. No leave time for us until the redecoration is completed. |
