Good glue for plastics
I had used Pro-Soft bait glue but the bottles always clogged.Now I have been using Locktite Super Glue in the "Gel Control"
dispenser. Very good and no drying up in the bottle.
I repair swimbaits with this stuff and it works good. |

| I have been using Krazy Glue from the brush on container. It works very
well, and doesn't clog. I get a dozen trips or more out of a bottle if I
don't spill it or step on it. |

| All the various super/crazy/krazee/glue products have the same active
ingredient -- cyanoacrylate. It is triggered to cure by the introduction
of moisture. If you can keep moisture out of the tip, it won't clog. If
you live where the average humidity is over 50%, it's going to clog no
matter what the dispenser design. If you live in the desert, it won't. My solution is to have my wife buy the cheapest superglue type product
she can find in the dollar store, that is packaged in metal tubes. Metal
tubes are more impervious to moisture, and extend the unopened shelf
life of superglue from about 12 months to more than 18 months. She
usually gets 10 tubes for a dollar. At a dime a tube, I don't really
care if they clog. If I use two or three in a weekend, what's the biggie? |

| I do the same thing, get the cheapest stuff I can find. However, I do have
a tip if you use the metal tubes. If you are going to put it in your pocket, make certain that you don't have
anything that could possibly be sharp. It will puncture the tube and it's
possible to glue your hand in your pocket. However, if you're going to
attempt this, make certain that your pocket has a lot of pocket lint, it
will allow you to fish with both hands afterwards, but with a lot less
feel |

| HA! I tried the multiples of the cheapest tubes. (I live in the desert)
They clog and puncture and make a mess. Rarely will a tube last more than
one trip. They leak on my fingers, and never seem to put glue in the right
place. I wouldn't mind a tube every trip if it was easy to use. Afterall I found
three packs a couple places for 99¢. Unfortunately they make a mess and
rarely last a whole trip, and the glue is hard to apply. The brush on is
more expensive at around $3 per tube, but it lasts for dozens of trips, has
a large opening that doesn't clog as easily, and the glue goes on easily
exactly where I want it with the applicator brush. I can see where it might still just go solid or glue shut in a high humidity
envirnment though.
