| Just talked to Charles. He's starting to move around the house a little...
working on some Website updates and stuff. He sure wishes he'd gone to
Wisconsin now.... He couldn't spare the time away from work, and now he'll
be out for about another month. Let that be a lesson to us all.... never allow work to interfere with
fishing. Joe

| Yeah... what Joe says. I'm doing better, still can't work. The really bad thing is, to look at me,
there appears to be nothing wrong. No cast, no splint, so brace, or
immobilizer. Nothing! But the doctors won't let me go to work. Probably
because I can't put any weight at all on my left leg... and I have plenty of
weight to put on it! I've got crutches though, and I can navigate around the
house a little better now. Thanks for asking |

| Truer words have never been spoken... Unless the work involves hunting! Then I'll have to reconsider. |

| At this point Charles you actually have lots to be thankful for. If you
were close to me I'ld rig a way to get you on a boat and fishing. I put
Dave Wilhide on board when he messed up his ankle so he could call off his
ABA region tournaments. Admittedly Dave could walk some. Be thankful you don't own your own small business at this point. I broke my
leg and several other bones over three years ago. I had to field client
calls from my hospital bed for two weeks (when I was conscious). I have a
couple good friends who tried their best to cover for me, but I lost a lot
of money and a few clients. I was in the office the day after I got home to
pay bills and do billing. I couldn't walk, but... I did service calls for
clients out of a wheel chair. I threw my wheel chair in the sidecar of a
motorcycle I had at the time, and I put my tool belt in the trunk of the
bike. I couldn't drive my truck, but I could operate that bike ok. I
imagine I freaked out a few clients when I rolled intot heir office in ym
wheel chair with my tool belt across my lap and then proceeded to work on
their systems while standing or hopping around on one leg. LOL. You want heart break, just watch many years hard work start to trickle away
because you aren't physically able to do what you need to do. I survived,
and you will too. In fact I have had some of my most profitable years since
then. I also learned that work isn't everything. Since then I have bought four
boats and fished and started fishing bass tournaments and met a lot of new
friends. I spend more time with family, and I make a greater effort to skip
work for the kids various events at school, music class, acting class, etc. I wish you a fast recovery and many rewarding years to reflect on your
fortunes and misfortunes alike and the wisdom to learn from both.
