River Report

Took out Jim Laumann on Friday. I was bound and determined to catch a few and put him on some fish, but the fish just wouldn't cooperate. In all my best spots Its was slow, but I managed to catch 9 ot 10 bass through out the day. 3 or 4 of them were keeper size.

I spotted a very very few fish cruising in spawning areas, but there really werem't any in traditional staging areas.

One shallow back water lake had several beds that were all cleaned off, but no fish on the beds. I wonder if the fish in that area had gone up on beds already, and somebody had already come through and cleaned them off. In that little backwater I did find three fish oriented to beds.

My biggest fish of the day (maybe 2 1/2 pounds) came off a pitch up under a deeper dock, but it was the only bite from a dock. They just weren't oriented on docks strongly either.

WE caught a few. I'll let Jim tell the tale his way. Actually he got nailed hard in a spot that I have only ever caught bigger fish, but we never saw the fish.
